Some random riffs, how's the snare sound?

As I still think that the snare/OH/ambience of a drum mix is one of the most important parts to make a flat mix sound "special/huge" I'm trying something different here to achieve just that....

Sloppy playing on guitars, beware

I was going for a fat, deep, verby snare sound, you know that woody/donk style...

It's a Slate snare but EQ'd and compressed to shit and back.

What do you think? Don't listen to the rest of the drums, I just tried to make 'em work here, it's just ghetto EZDrummer stuff...

In case you wanna know guitars are all digital (Revalver) + TS.

Way too much reverb imo, and this is just on speakers, on headphones it'd be a ridiculous amount. I don't like to hear a plate reverb, it should just blend. Room mics and ambience and all of that reverb is good when loud but not artificial verb.

If you want a tip that can work very well on SOME snares..
Do parallel compression, but then compress it AGAIN afterwards with a really slow attack(like 50, even 100ms whatever works), so you just get this massive burst of noise for the duration of the attack. Can sound wicked, but only on some snares.

I actually kind of like it. Yeah there's a TON of reverb on it but it doesn't sound bad to my ears.
