Alright, I don't want to be Preacherman here, but even in the light of the tragedy last week, people are still bagging on each other or arguing over lineups and band members.
This is the time of year that we're supposed to put our petty differences aside. Good will towards man, good tidings to all... whatever you want to call it... why don't we do something to make a difference as Anthrax fans, as metal fans, as DIMEBAG fans, and as human beings.
As we all know, Nathan Bray was a 23 yr old blue collar kid who was one of the victims in the complete atrocity that transpired last week. When that psycho opened fire, Nathan ran for the stage not away. His idol had been shot and he was going to help him. In trying to save Dimebag's life, Nathan made the ultimate sacrifice. It was the height of selflessness. Even though his effort ended in tragedy, Nathan Bray is still a hero... he tried to do something to help.
Here's where we all come in:
Nathan left behind a baby son, Anthony, who is forced to grow up without his father. He'll only know his of his Daddy... his work ethic and his brave actions, through the stories his family tells him.
So please take a look at this:

The Bray family set up a scholarship fund in Anthony's name. I'm going to call the bank on Monday to see if the trust account has been set up yet.
There's no lesson to be learned from this tragedy, no silver lining, but the least we could do is try to give back and do something for somebody in need.
As the metal community, our generosity and caring would honor that of Nathan Bray and Dimebag Darrell.
Happy Holidays,
John
