Instrumental Power Metal

Greetings to all, I’ve been recording this song with a power metal band. In my opinion even if their playing isn't the tightest I kind of like the come out.
But they’re telling me the drums should have more "punch" and I really don't get what they mean. Also the guitar solos being to dry.

Any way what do you think?

And also is the song to quiet?

I never "seek" to be as loud as possible but maybe this time I do need to add some dB. Or is it good that way?

This is quite good. But the snare is to dry, it needs some kind of reverb.

I made a different version which I actually hate, but the band loved it. I think everything is way to upfront and nothing has its own space. What should i do in a situation like this? Give them the new version (it's their song and their band) or insist in the one I prefer the most (it's my reputation in game).

I agree with Nuno, it doesn't seem quite as clear but the 2nd version is much more what i'd expect a powermetal album to sound like.

hmmmm, maybe it's because of the metal I’m used to listen; technical progressive stuff or modern metal. Where everything is kinda in its own place. Should have listen to more of that kind of power metal before, was researching just right now the old strato albums and woa there is TONS of reverb everywhere XD!!!Well I guess it's a matter of taste.
