Interesting Iron Maiden cover

Well, the music is good. But James LaBrie... :erk:

Have you heard James on DT's version of Rainbow's 'Stargazer'? Horrible! He ruins that song completely.

I heard that there were some rumors circulating that he will leave DT. They are not true but for a moment I had some hope...

I don't know what's the problem with LaBrie. I like his vocals a lot in and out of DT, but it seems that when it comes to sing outside his range and turf (progressive rock) he really fucks up. I mean if he sings like in IAW, or FII, or SFAM it's alright but when he tries to sound like Hetfield or do some other weird experimentation, there goes the song!

As for the covers, it's funny because I ordered the 3 CD BC&SL edition since it was cheaper at Amazon that the standar version at some other online sellers. So if the covers suck at least I'll have the third disc with the instrumental versions :D

If he leaves DT I know a lot of detractors of the band will be happy, but I don't know if that will set the band on a return to their older sound path or towards a worst path along the lines of TOT and the bad songs of SC and BC&SL. Time will tell.

Really? I never cared for Dream Theater but man that song is awesome!

Rainbow's version that is.

I agree the song is very good and has been covered several times. One of the most noticeable versions is Mundanus Imperium (with Jorn Lande).
I'm now curious about the DT one because its a song with strong progressive vibe and should have fitted a band like DT.
