Not sure if anybody from the board was there to weigh in on the "antics" as described in this review:

http://themetalfiles.com/

I sure hope Jim is ok - he's always been a cool dude and I know he's dealing with a lot of stuff, so they need to dig down deep to make sure they keep this train rolling.

Biased, crap review. From a website daring to call itself "metalfiles" and he knows fuck all about Nevermore, Hatesphere or Warbringer? What a joke.

Regardless, I wasnt at the ATX show, but I was at an earlier show, and I know for a fact Jim's been sick legitimately. Maybe he let the sickness and pressure of playing the show get to him a bit and had at it with WD a bit, that I wouldnt know, but for this guy who's not even much a fan to go throwing shit around like that with no basis of information is pure bullshit.

Maybe Jim didn't want to swallow :loco:

Eh, a couple of my friends went to that show, huge Nevermore fans. They barely even mentioned the spat, as though it was nothing special. So I'm kinda doubting it was as dramatic as that guy says in his blog.

there is obviously something missing somewhere if one person says band members were throwing punches and almost tossing each other off stage and another says the antics were no big deal. i wonder what actually happened? either way, i agree with the review on the point about van being metal's best kept secret. van is a fucking awesome drummer and he set a new standard with his playing in TGE. but 100 people is a fucking joke of a crowd for nevermore. they should be playing in front of at least 1000 every night.

I don't see Nevermore pulling a huge crowd in hipster Austin, unless they don't play Dallas (or Fort Worth), Houston, and San Antonio as well. Then people would have to travel to Austin and thus a bigger crowd. But they did hit up all those cities, so, there ya go. All major cities covered. I'd say we had a decent crowd in Fort Worth, pulling in everyone from the entire Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, and probably some people from southern Okrahoma.

From what I've heard from my associates, there were no shoves or punches between Jim and Warrel, but I wasn't there so I really can't say for sure.

the whole thing was totally blown out of proportion, however I did fucking punch Jim and he hit the floor , just because he said something that pissed me off. I'm such a non violent person so you can figure it was something bad and it pushed me over the edge... this reviewer guy ..whatever...I had one of my best shows cause I was so pissed off and he called my performance "mediocre" ..gotta love the internet cause everything you read on the net is ALWAYS complete truth...interesting that sometimes it seems media people have bigger ego problems than the actual band members

You gotta remember that Jim is a long-time friend and band member. I would hate to see your relationship with him end sour over some petty shit. Jim will eventually have enough and leave the band. Not trying to single you out, but in an interview with Jim he said you pull his hair and push him around to perform with more energy on stage. To be honest that would piss me off, or just about anyone. Maybe there is more going on behind the scenes we don't know about, but just based on what I know I can understand how feelings between you two are boiling over. People need their space.

well for what it's worth everything is all good today....brothers fight occasionally ....he's not leaving the band and no one is kicking him out...we are a very tight bunch of friends but we all have our moments of hating each other just like any other dysfunctional family

Well damn, does that mean nobody is going to get punched in Raleigh tonight?? You know how much they like their "wrasslin'" down here in the south!

Seriously though, hope you guys fuck shit up tonight. Been looking forward to seeing and meeting you guys!

And there goes THAT shit story right there. Good. Seeing this made me feel a slight bit guilty due to the game a bunch of us went to on Sunday.

But yeah, man. I get into fights with my best friends like once every 5 months. Punches exchanged and everything. 24 hours later its back to trading drinks and bullshit stories. Cool to see your fanbase isnt full of assclowns.

noone got hit....but it *something* was up with Warrel. Good show nonetheless. I did however sense some tension between the band. I sincerely hope everything is okay. Jeff came out and holy shit holy shit, shook my hand and then gave me a hug. and then Jim gave me a hug. Talked with Attila about gear, I had never seen the TC elec. pedalboard that jeff uses and Attila was nice enough to stand around and describe it plus his own rig. Warrel stayed on the bus, Attila said he was sick, which I can believe. overall, the music was 100% awesome on on point, and Warrel's singing was okay, just cus he gets points for being Mr. Dane. I wasn't overly dissapointed, but If he had been sober then it woulda been cool

sober?

most reviews are either saying that Warrel or Jim were drunk as hell, and that's kinda odd

It seemed like Warrel was very intoxicated. he forgot the setlist and pissed jeff off a couple times. and he forgot some lyrics/came in at the wrong time. I dont really care though, still an amazing show and still my favorite band. Jeff called warrel Ted Nugent. haha.
