Ill be tracking a guitarist that has a dimebucker bridge pickup and also has an invader (not installed). I have absolutelly no experience with either and was wondering what you guys think?

Should i recommend he installs the invader, keep the dimebucker or find another guitar altogether!?

I will get you the wood details of the guitar; i don't have them today but had to post because we have a deadline for finishing the whole thing and i can use some info asap.

Thanks!

thanks for the answer! Yup i know what he uses but i will be reamping. havent tried any of the two yet..

Depends on the style I suppose, the invader is brutal as fuck, and has a shitload of high end compared to most pups.... it is really not a tight pup at all though.

I would explain what the dimebucker sounds like, but seeing as you already have one installed I'm sure you can judge for yourself.

I hate both pickups as well. Dimebag actually used a Bill Lawrence pickup, so I'd recommend that over an imitation of what he really used.

thanks guys. Gonna be trying the guitar in the next couple of days. Of course i could lend him mine but theyre 7 strings and if he is not used to that its gonna take more time and were kinda short on that unfortunatelly. Besides it will be a pain for me cause its set up for my band and we both tune differently.

As ratsapprentice suggested they're actually not after the Dimebag sound.

So it seems you guys don't like those pickups..
