haha I was flipping through a Musicians Friend catalog the other day and saw a $9000 guitar

i am not a musician, but that sounds reasonable for "creating" music.
i mean if speakers can cost 10X that to "reproduce" it ... it's a bargain.

hmmm....i see your point.
the speakers though are a bunch of bullshit. Im convinced that up to a finacial point (i dont know what that is yet), all youre paying for with speakers is bragging rights and someone else's idea of what the source should sound like. Arent monitor speakers in studios the only type of speaker that doesn't "color" the original sound?

well yeah, if you are a virtuoso a pink barbie guitar can be used to blow anyones mind.
that remind me ... the other day at the Gwynbleidd gig, there was a band opening for them in which the bass player (probably17 y/o) had one of those 10 string Behold the Arctopus insane basses. And he was just plucking away at 1 string most of the time. Rich kid probably)

I think the Scandinavians kind of kill the bell curve. And Pete was a freak of nature, damn Polish/Russian monstrosity. Actually all the guys in Type O Negative were above average, Pete was just a Frankenstein motherfucker.
