Iron Maiden Virgin

Be quick or be dead was a smashing success at the time though, even if you might have been too young to realize it. They played it on mainstream swedish radio a lot.

oh i know it was a success, i'm just saying that it feels to me like a reaction to/inspired by thrash metal, being maiden's most blatantly aggressive song since the first two albums

another question. is it better to get the originals, the castle remasters, or does it even matter?

get the remasters they sound good and tend to have some good bonus tracks

I don't think you can find anything but the remasters. The remasters have better layouts with more pictures and the 2 first albums didn't have the lyrics in the booklets in the old versions.

The remasters differ between Us and Europe btw, check metal-archives. Also, I think I read somewhere that the Castle remasters are out of print and really expensive on ebay. What you would get in the US is probably the newer Sony remasters.

ill go with the remasters, because i found a place i can get the first seven for about $8 a piece brand new, free shipping. cheers.

Number of the Beast - 7th son are all great albums. Fear of the Dark has some great songs.....and some shit but some great songs.

Number was my first maiden album.

dunno, but Somewhere in Time is my fave for the moment.

this i would have never imagined.

on a related note. can Maiden get any bigger??? its amazing...

Following on from the hugely successful screening of IRON MAIDEN's award-winning film "Flight 666" in over 500 digital cinemas in 42 countries worldwide in April, the recent release of "Flight 666" on DVD has secured another global triumph for the band by flying into the music DVD charts at No. 1 in 22 countries already, including the U.S. and U.K., with many more charts yet to come in!

* In the U.S., it was not only No. 1 debut, but also the highest first-week sales (24,000 copies) of any music DVD so far in 2009! This release closely followed the U.S. TV premiere of the movie on Palladia/VH1, which was watched by over three million people, the highest viewing of a music documentary on the channel so far this year.

* In Canada, it rocketed into the No. 1 position outselling the No. 2 DVD by over 6:1

* In the U.K., first day's sales were over twice the total combined sales of every other DVD in the Top 50!

* In Sweden, "Flight 666" is currently at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 on Sweden's leading online retailer Discshop chart with the deluxe, standard and Blu-ray formats respectively!

* In Australia, it not only debuted at No. 1 but was certified platinum within its second week of release.

* In India, as well as being the No.1 music DVD, it entered at No. 6 in the mainstream DVD movie chart, placing it that week ahead of such international blockbusters as

ive been playin the shit out of Somewhere in Time lately, this album is just hit after hit! even the underdog songs (deja vu, long distance runner, etc) rule more than a lot of the popular songs from other albums. Alexander the Great isnt quite Hallowed by thy Name, but its goddamn epic and catchy, and the beginning of track 1 is one of the most kick-ass album intros ever! all killer no filler!

new song released today ... album on August 16

I have kind of a wtf feeling about this track

are you guys really digging that? I "like" it, but it gives me more of a bar band feel.

It kind of reminds me of the new Burzum in the sense that it sounds like a band trying to play Iron Maiden.

the new Burzum has grown on me. some random shuffle spins in the car put an interesting spin on some tracks.
it does sound a bit fluffy and happy though for some reason. make what you will of that :loco:
