My buddy had the cd and I had the cassette. The cassette had 5 more songs on it at that time (which they later added to the cd).

Yep, the original was a double LP.
The original press of the CD omits some tracks.
Then it was later re-issued as a double CD.
Bruce made that statement on the last tour before Rime......
Funnier to hear it live than on album.
