Yacht rock is Dad rock that people play when they just want to relax. As generations have shifted, it seems a lot more yachts are blaring death metal. Same way when I see guys working in their garages, hauling out (the MP4s of) that ancient copy of Abominations of Desolation. Is it time for a mellower version of death metal, just so people can enjoy their yachts and building Raspberry Pi home servers in their garages without upsetting the neighbors? Or is death metal just part of the landscape now, sort of like a less angry version of nu-metal or rap?
