This is my 2nd post here, I came here as a refugee from ultimate-guitar.com - I got really sick of their userbase and constant naziism. This place seems pretty chill, so here I am.
I'm getting a little sick of death metal (overdose, I guess...), and I'm looking for some newer "fresh" metal that doesn't have that constant low register going on. I'm pretty open really, and I'm fine with some Melo death too.
Here's what I've listened to so far that is new-ish, that isn't strictly death:
- Agalloch (freaking love their stuff, reminds me of Opeth)
- Nevermore (just recently got into this band, liking them so far)
- Vektor
- Revocation (fun stuff)
- Skeletonwitch
- Lamb of God (like all their stuff, seems as little generic but its metal)
