i know that a lot of you guys (myself included) like bodom so much you have alexis signature guitars, lee jacksons and stuff, but try to do a self evaluation: is it being wannabe for having a signature guitar and play it around on stage?

my opinion is i love my guitar and the feel of it, bodom did influence me but i dont feel like a alexi wannabe, i just think his guitar is god damn cool.

what you guys think? please vote up

P.S.: please captain obvious ipot dont try to bring order here again lol:worship:

EDIT: well im talking if its bad having signature guitars in general or is it being wannabe for having alexis specific guitar

Not at all, hell if having a guitar someone else has makes you a "wannabe" everyone copies everyone else who has that style guitar.

Obviously just having an Alexi-guitar doesn't make you a wannabe, I thought it's more like wannabes are more prone to buying one. Being wannabe is all about the attitude, not just the equipment, but yes usually having a full "Alexi-gear" goes hand in hand with fanboyism.

I don't really think Riku from Catamenia is an Alexi-fanboy, even though he has the guitar.

I'll be honest with you. I think the shape kicks ass and the pinstripes also look badass. Every time I play something by Bodom on my Ibanez I have to lift in a weird position so I could reach the higher frets better. With the RR you can just shove the fishtail between your legs and play it comfortably. If I had the money, I'd surely buy one. Not sure if I am still an Alexi fanboy or not, but I did buy the signature pickup and love the sound of it... I'll probably keep using it even if I start loathing Bodom or whatever. Won't happen though : )

If you buy a guitar only because Alexi uses it, then you're an idiot.
If you buy a guitar that Alexi uses because you like the sound, you're not.

It just.. looks fucking sexy and I love playing it! :)

The AL-600 and the Edwards Signature AND the Custom Shop ESP Alexis all play great! So I don't see why not.

Heck, mine isn't even an official signature:

(Have to brag a little )

It depends. If you buy a guitar just because it's Alexi signature, when you could've had another better guitar cheaper, then you're probably stupid.

I have an RR24 but it was a good purchase as it was quite cheap and one of the best metal guitars out there, even tho my skills didn't quite deserve it, it'll be good enough for the rest of my life. It's not that I'm obsessed with Alexi, but I've been watching those guitars all my life because of Bodom and think they're the coolest, besides I was originally supposed to buy Roope's RL-600.

All these threads you make make me confused if you're afraid you have homosexual feelings towards Alexi. :)
If someone imitates someone he should do it in appropriate way, cos lame imitation is always annoying and gay.
If someone dresses up like Alexi, only Bodom fans would recognize it, and not like it, so what's the point. Find your own style.

LOL i masturbate over my edwards scythe because i think alexi might be watching:popcorn:

nunofrg...that guitar is a Jackson star, not the same as a RR24, Stars have smaller nut width and different inlays than RR24, also, I believe the stars come with gold hardware...think those are the only differences, but I could be wrong.

I don't consider myself to be a wanna be just becuase I have a RR24M and a LTD AL-600. I've loved the shape of the guitar for longer than I even knew about CoB(Randy Rhodes is a guitar hero of mine), plus a good deal is a good deal. And they both play better than any other guitar I have owned or even tried. The only other guitar I've ever played that was better was an Ibanez JEM my buddy had. That thing played itself.

Now, if you own all Alexi's gear or are trying to just becuase Alexi owns/owned it(ItalianBodom), and all you do is cover CoB, then yes, I would say your are some what of a wanna be. If you dress up like Alexi and try to act like him, then you deff are a wanna be. But the thing is we are all raised to have a "hero" to be like when we are growing up, someone to look up to. And I think that carries on into our lives as we grow older. We just go from wanting to be a doctor or fireman when we are younger, to wanting to be a guitar hero or pornstar once we grow up and really see how the world is.

A Les Paul is a "signature" guitar, but people don't go crazy calling everyone who uses one a wanna be Les Paul.

A Randy Rhoads is also a "signature" but I don't consider it being one. Its just a name for the RR shaped guitars to me, whereas Alexi's signature for me is a signature, since it's the same shape (almost) as the RR's with just some modifications.

Don't know if I think it's wanna be or not to have a signature model, but I myself wouldn't want a guitar with somebody else's name (Not even Alexi's).

Used to like the ESP Alexi guitars, but now when I look at them.. I just think they are ugly. Was planing to buy one, but ended up buying Jackson. There is not much to be said on topic, there is nothing wrong with owning ESP Alexi guitar if you own it for the right reason.

his jackson is so awsome i must say

I love the shape and feel of the Jackson how it positions on the lap with the fin between legs, good reach for all frets. With an SG shaped guitar like my older Ibanez I have to choose between two ways to position it depending whether I wanna play on high or low frets, it's always a pain either for the right shoulder or the left wrist.

Having a signature guitar is fine as long as you're doing your own thing with it. If you're on stage wearing alexi's clothes, head banging like alexi, posing like alexi, etc... then it's not okay.

I bought a used alexi 600 myself because I love the shape, and it's fucking awesome. My main choice for an RR guitar was the RR24 but it's small and the volume knob is in the way. I didn't want to adjust to it, and used alexis are a fucking steal. The new ones with the cutaway are actually really, really good deals if you get it under 700 USD or so. The floyd isn't made in Germany, but it holds up just as well my German made ones (so far that I've had it).

The thing is, the cheapest GOOD RR shape guitars (also 24 fret) are edwards, jackson rr24, and alexi 600. The ones under that I wouldn't touch (personally). So if you're going on stage and you're not rich, you're sort of stuck with one of the three. But if you're going on stage with an Alexi 600, just be yourself!
