Is "on eagles wings" a true story?

I know this has probobly been asked before but I've been wondering for over a year now and im curious

I think I remember reading Matt's explanation of his inspiration for the song, but I can't find it. I looked through prior threads, as well as googled for it in interviews online, and didn't see it. Maybe someone else remembers and can find it...

On Eagles' Wings
So much of what we do is grand and thematic, but this time I wanted to explore just writing a simple praise song with a slightly more personal and straightforward slant to the lyrics. My wife and my father had both had very serious medical scares and had come out OK, and I was feeling incredibly blessed and thankful. "On Eagles' Wings" is my thanks to God during those times.
