It's been too long since the last hedgehog picture thread.

Prepare for a cuteness overload. :D Sorry for the poor quality, but my digital camera shat out on me sometime last summer.

Yup. Their spines aren't intensely sharp, especially if you've handled them for a bit. He really didn't have them raised, anyway, though he looks pretty defensive in that pic. The only time they really hurt is when he's shed one or two on the floor, and I happen to locate it with my bare foot later on.

SO CUTE!!!! Russel! MUST! UPLOAD! MORE! PICS!

*melts*

I'd be glad to, if I had any more right now... imagine this, Karen: early in the mornings, when he's still awake (they're nocturnal), his favorite thing to do in the pen is run in his wheel for a while, get out, stick his head in the tube and roll around, pull that off, go back to his wheel and repeat. :D He also attempts to climb a tapestry we have on the wall, and ends up swinging on it like a spiny Indiana Jones.

SO CUTTTEEEEEE.... ;____;

How much are they? And are they difficult to maintain?

DO WANT.

(And where does one even acquire one ^^)

Hedgehogs aren't available at most pet stores, we really had to hunt around. They're really awesome pets; they don't have a natural odor and no human has ever been found to be allergic to one. They do poop like Nibbler though, so be prepared to clean his environment out pretty frequently (his wheel is especially gross after a couple of days). But all you have to do to give him a bath is fill up the tub and watch him swim around.
