It's official: Angra Parts Way With Singer Edu Falaschi

Van Canto will headline ProgPower USA before that happens.

You know what's funny? I would bet my car on your coffee pot that you're wrong.

Van Canto will never headline ProgPower.

Angra is a not-so-impossible scenario for Matos anymore anymore. There's a whole lot of behinds the scenes stuff that is actually less drastic than people make it to be. ;)

Meanwhile, the Edu fan club meeting is over this way.

But didn't Matos say that it was up to the boys in Angra, and Angra came back and said that there was too much to allow for a reunion? If I am wrong, please tell me. But, I think after 14 years, Matos has basically made himself one of the better hired guns in metal. I honestly think that by re-joining Angra is a step back for him at this point in his career.

Besides, I do not have a driveway for the car, and since I live in Brooklyn, the insurance is going to be murder. :p:lol:

I don't agree. I think the only way Angra will become one of the most important bands in metal again (as they were in the 90s) is if Matos is in the band. Same thing for him...

I Lol'd hard.

Damn you guys are a tough audience. Personally I love Edu's vocals and I'm sad to see him go, but at least he left on a better note than Khan.

I still don't understand what you all see in Matos. I find him dreadfully boring. I tried listening to his solo album that one year he was supposed to play at PP and I couldn't even finish it. Which just goes to illustrate...to each their own.

I think Matos is the better singer, but Angra was a better band with Falaschi.

But if they aren't going with matos, the current singer of Shaman would do nicely.

I am not a fan of his solo material either. But the first two Angra records are phenomenal and he sounded great on it. It's a shame that he has been writing generic music for a long time... His early career was pretty damn good.

Though I had a feeling that something like this was brewing within the Angra camp, I'm sad to see it happen. I've loved every album by Angra, and Edu's presence has really become synonymous with the "Nova Era" of the band. I think a lot of it has to do with his inconsistency as a live singer. I can understand Edu's frustration with singing what appears to be out of his range (especially after rupturing his vocal cords), but I can also understand the rest of the band's desire to have the songs performed as close to the way they were recorded as possible.

I trust that the band will carry on (no pun intended) with an equally unique, capable vocalist. Could Matos rejoin the band? I wouldn't rule it out, especially considering the number of "cash grab" reunions going on in the current musical climate. I think it would be cool, but only if Andre was willing to sing Edu's stuff, too.

Stay metal. Never rust.

I haven't heard of this band until AngraRules showed me them a long time ago now, and while I like their musicianship, to say that either singers (I'm assuming they had two?) are even in the realm of "good" makes me want to take bath salts and eat my own face off.

I guess to clarify what I mean is that I always assumed this was one of those bands where the music is front and center and the vocals take a backseat, I guess I'm kind of surprised that people are so passionate about the singer when to my ears he doesn't really stand out as anything special.

Andre Matos is one of the greatest singers metal has ever had. Over a million records sold worldwide. Incredible 20+ year career. To say he isn't even good, makes me want to give my pitbull bath salts so she can eat your face.

See what happens when you start with the ears right after taking bath salts?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
