Thanks Lynn for being the only one to not sidetrack the discussion onto food and menstrual fluid... The tone on the guitar definitely reminded me of good ol carlos, but Santana for me always sounded like this:

As splooge-worthy as that may be... I listen to this religiously already as it is. Would King Crimson be a step in the right direction for me?

King Crimson is the right direction for everyone.

And it was 'that time for the month' for my lady last night.

Hahaha I was actually trying to think of a song to contribute to this thread but I was having a difficult time coming up with a good one, so I fell back onto an old classic inside joke.

Here, how about this? Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for as it has a fair amount of vocals (of the non-annoying variety), but it's guitar driven and trippy and awesome as all get up.

edit: Also, this album has one of the coolest covers ever:

FUCKING YES!

I was looking for something a bit more minimalistic, but this is gold anyway!

Kinda just looks like chocolate through this dim ass monitor of mine... Melting cookie incident, perhaps?

Well If we're already getting into weird/disturbing/creepy pictures, then this classic must be mentioned:
