it's time for me to get a Graveland album.

haha, says the guy who thinks Kayo Dot creates good music. priceless.

Yeah, your taste still sucks, but at least you're keeping it confined to your usual comfort areas. :tickled:

It'd be a lot easier, and more accurate, to just say:

everything up through "Following the Voice of Blood" = black metal

everything from "Immortal Pride -> present" = Bathory-worship

Let's be even more explicit:

everything up through "Following the Voice of Blood" = crap black metal

everything from "Immortal Pride -> present" = crap black metal with pompous keyboard shite

they're all worth buying, of course

:dopey: haha

go listen to kayo dot and get gayer by the listen

Seriously though, can you in some way explain your love for "Following..."? All I hear is shitty drumming, horrible production, jangly guitars, Rob's usual puppy-dog growls and long songs that go nowhere.

I'm in the minority with this album. And it took a really long time to become my favorite (used to be Immortal Pride). But like so many different albums for differnt people, one day it just all came together.

I'm not a production nazi. Never have been. As long as I don't hear the dreaded tape hiss, I'm fine. 've come to expect a "bad" production with black metal. In fact, I prefer it.

I've honestly never understood all the crap Capricornus receives for his drumming. Very warlike and intense.

Darken is Darken and his vocals are a fixture in the band. Love em or hate em.

I think the songs work well. Listen to Thurisaz or track 8. Plus the intro/outro works perfectly.

I have this on double-vinyl. I've listened to it maybe 3 times and it left a bad taste in my mouth after each listen. Something about the sound is really grating (maybe it's the fact that the drums are WAY too high in the mix). I'll keep trying (unlike a certain someone else, I'm not going to automatically dismiss it after 2 listens ;) ), but if my enthusiasm (and penis) never rises, hopefully I can unload it to some idiot on ebay for $50 or something.

if anything, I'll take it off you hands. nothing like having a fave album on CD and vinyl i guess. just finished the album. beautiful. love how the intro and outro are similar, as if it's the beginning and ending of a bloody battle.
