Discuss, add your own, critique, threadjack, in essence, do what you RC peeps do. :tickled:

Ancalagon - First Age: Entering Legenda
the essence of what vikingism is about, galopping riffs, great heathen acoustic interludes, raging vokills, can't wait for their second effort

More to come maybe later if you guys didn't already discuss everything I own...

See, this is really my ulterior motive, to create a shopping list. Ha ha haha ha

Obtest - Auka Seniems Dievams
Listen to Auka Seniems Dievams

The first one from Estonia, the second from Lithuania. Both play a very close brand of pagan battle metal, pretty stubborn-paced, dirty as fuck with almost punkish undertones. Great stuff to whistle and headbang along. They are certainly some of the strongest outsiders in the heathen scene. For me Obtest's album in particular is a classic, no less. Both bands have a newer album which I'm dying to check.

Also another one that's awesome that I'm pretty sure that no one else here listens to:

Pagan Hellfire - A Voice From Centuries Away...

probably because all the releases are independent pro-CDR presses from the guy himself or the Intolerant Records cassette tape press.

^ Not sure what this has to do with the genre really. It's good but it hardly is folky or anything at all.

Bathory "Hammerheart"
Bathory "Twilight of the Gods"
Enslaved "Vikingligr Veldi"
Helheim "Jormundgand"
Nokturnal Mortum "Goat Horns"

I could care less about any others because we are talking essentials here

Vinterland incorporate quite a bit of folkish/viking-type melody in that album, whether or not they've come right out and said so.
