Well see once again it's a balance issue, cuz 9-11-16 are too thin for me, bu 54-42-32 too thick! (for that tuning anyway)

I prefer DR Blue Blues 52-12 for C tuning on my Kramer which is a 25 1/2 scale. I'm putting together a guitar for drop A tuning, and are going to try a string approach similar to niles, which is 15-24-32-42-52-70. We'll see how that works out as soon as its all together.

I honestly don't think of 12-54's as too light for C standard, especially on a 25.5" scale guitar.

I'm using 11-52's for Drop C on my 25.1" scale Ibanez and they're working like a charm to me.

I prefer the tone of not-uber-thick-strings, personally.

Call me retarded, but I've been playing 0.10-0.46 in D Std. for the last 4 years.
Yesterday I put 0.10-052 for Drop C and I feel like playing a fucking bassguitar.
