James Bond movies are amazing, my favorite being Goldfinger. Connery was the best Bond, but I think Roger Moore is so underrated. Moore is my favorite Bond mainly because his humor.

Quantom of Solice was a great film, not breaking my top 10 Bond movies though, even if Daniel Craig was great.

i just saw the new bond film. worst bond film in a long time. it seems like it was missing a plot. where was the super uber bad guy and huge plot to destroy the world? kinda boring imo

I started with Moore but now look in retrospective, he´s the worst, that humor you pointed at made the character a buffoon. Jams Bond is a though, depressive, almost alcoholic guy, violent, difficult to control. Moore make it a cute Superman type of hero that never lost his hairdo and rely on cheap humor to get the girl or retort the bad guy.

Of course is my opinion, you can defend yours and it's perfectly valid, that is what argument is all about.

Au contraire, it has a definitive plot and the character has change. He's a MI6 operative not superman, there's no need for another Blofeld (although I think Mr. White will take over it). If you look closely at the plot is about politicians manipulations, control of world resources, revenge and I think that's great. I was getting tired of the impossible Bond stunts, the always in the nick of time Q gadgets save the day, etc.
After Casino Royale to me is the best since "The Living Daylights".

when the movie ended i literally said to my friend "where is the rest of the movie?". it seemed to me there was supposed to be more but wasn't. this movie still had plenty of the impossible bond stunts. its funny he gets basically blown up, in car cahses, falls from great heights and then has a few scratches and bruises

Actually the movie is the shortest of the whole collection (being "On Her Majesty Secret Service" the longest), so yes I can understand that you feel certain frustration. To me it worked fine, but since we are in opposite sides of the street we won't get an agreement, this is our version of the cold war

As for the scratches at least he had some. Moore always came after a big explosion or anything with his hairdo perfect and not even a mark (except the cut in the arm on "Live And Let Die" that I recall) or that scene in "Thunderball" I believe in which Connery came out in a diving suit, takes it of and beneath is a perfect ironed tuxedo

We can ageee for sure that we are not going to agree on this matter

Oh yeah, that was really bad ("You Only Live Twice") although it has the best Blofeld ever (Donald Pleasence), also now that you mention the Asian factor it reminds me of the terrible kung fu sequence in "The Man With The Golden Gun", and the perscution in motorcycle hadcuffed to the Chinese agent in "Tomorrow Never Dies". At least the Koreans in "Die Another Day" tortured Bond well (to me that's the most rescuable sequence of the movie).

You should read the book live and let die. It's not very politically correct lol.

It's a damn good read though. Parts from other bond films were taken from that book, for example 'disagreed with something that ate him' shark thingy.

Well as far as I know Ian Flemming was far from being politically correct, he was racist for starters and lived in an era were bigotry was rampant, so his legacy for the movies still was seeing even if filmed after his dead. Dr. No and the villains helping Blofeld in "You Only Live Twice" were Asians, the bad guys in "Live And Let Die" blacks, the hechman on Goldfinger was also Asian, hey even the big henchman in "Die Another Day" was black (the one killed with the laser) and the bad guys Asians again. I think a reason the character of Felix Leiter was changed from white to black in the last movies was to compensate for years of stereotyping the baddies as well as using Halle Berry as the first real black Bond girl in the movies (I'm not counting the girl in LALD because she had a small screen time and was a traitor killed by a dart as I recall).

No, Ian Fleming wasn't a dove and thus his movies (specially the old ones) can portray certain stereotyopes that are not acceptable anymore by today standards.

I think it's hypocritical but not boring, I believe we have to left out some misconceptions that we have been carrying for years and adopt a more tolerant approach to some people.

I can live with that ,to me that has nothing to do with political correctness. Fuck, I want to be like Bond, I want that job (except for the smoking, I'm glad they PC that out of the character, but I miss more sex with chicks, damn AIDS!)
