Do we know for sure that there will be a special Japanese version of the 3rd album with an exclusive track unavailable elsewhere?
If so, will devoted fans and Club of Souls members be able to pre-order this version directly from the band? That would be sweet!

Re the first part, I'd say that's nearly certain. This is standard operating procedure for any band with a significant Japanese fanbase, and that includes Theocracy. Count on it.

Fans should be able to order it directly from the band or label at some point, maybe not right away when it's released. There are certain requirements they have to abide by for the Japanese market.

What do you mean by saying they haven't? They have... many have died over there since the earthquake has happened.

He never said that :). I think Aletheus is just overturning any argument against him not getting the bonus track he's dying for. That's fair enough, it's a shame we don't get this bonus track, but I don't think it's the band's wishes that it happen this way, I get the impression it's just something they have to do to keep the record company happy.

But anyway, can't I get a bonus track? I'm from Scotland... :D

It's market forces. The band and the label have to do it if they want to have album sales in Japan.

If it makes you feel any better, the songs that become the bonus tracks tend to be ones that didn't make the cut to get on the full album. Many bands would probably concede they are not their strongest songs (speaking generally here, not re Theocracy).

Yeah, I can agree with all of you to some extent.
Matt said it himself that MoS was finished without the bonus track.
And they had to do it especially for Japan.

I don't mind not having a bonus track.
To be frank; I tend to download every album I buy in highest bitrate possible and then burn it to an mp3 cd so I can play it in my car. Beats carrying around a dozen cases at a time and keeps the CDs scratch free. :)

If I buy an album, I don't mind pirating a Japanese version of it. It seems only natural..

The band need not fret, for I have listened to the whole new album on youtube, (I know that's not excuse lol) including the bonus track.
