Jazz III users

I also used jazzIII for years but a while ago I turned again to bigger picks and never looked back. Personally I still haven't found a pick that suits me 100%. Currently I cycle through TIIIs, ultex sharps and tortex sharps. Most of the time I end up using tortex sharps though.

Last pack I bought was the Eric Johnson sig red Jazz IIIs. Hard to go back to regular sized picks after JIII's.

I mentioned earlier that I use the EJ Jazz III's about half the time - still feel the need to go back to my Tortex Greens quite often for certain types of playing.

Noticed the description of the EJ Jazz III's on the Dunlop site:

To create the Eric Johnson Classic Jazz III, we laser-scanned a vintage Jazz III from Eric's collection and recreated it with the most advanced molding techniques available. The result is a Jazz III with a more refined and smooth tip, more flexibility, and a matte finish with raised logos for an incredible gripping surface

is this implying they scanned a worn/used pick from Eric's collection and that's what makes it unique from the standard red III's? It definitely seems to different from other standard Jazz III reds I've used in the past.

Yeah it's definitely less rigid material than at least the tortex ones. I haven't used the regular red ones but I do have some old worn out black ones.

I was using the standard tortex 88's for years. Since I joined this band, fast licks didn't came out easy so I got the black jazzIII and happy since.
I also like the planet waves black ice ones.

The thing is I kinda miss the tortex scratchy sound so maybe I'll try the tortex varieties of the jazz shape. If I ever find one in this cloudy country I'm in :(

I use the purple Tortex Jazz picks, but next time I'm buying picks I'm picking up a pack of the green ones. I have a feeling that I'm going to prefer them.
