Jeff Loomis - Zero Order Phase!!

+1

And in this case how about asking Neil Kernon or Jeff Loomis themselves and then writing the answer here for everyone to know...

If I knew of a way to contact them and actually believed I'd get a reply back, I definitely would! I don't mind spreading any info I can if I feel I can help people out. Don't get all bent out of shape, guys. There are a lot of awesome people on here. It's just that lately it seems a lot of questions go unanswered, people not helping each other as much, people more focused on getting presets/samples/impulses/etc. instead of sharing info... *shrug*

Neil Kernon has its own forum on Ultimate Metal forums.

Also Jeff Loomis & Neil Kernon have myspace pages IIRR. You could PM them from there.

Unfortunately, there have always been unanswered questions. If nobody else can help, take matters into your own hands - NK is around here and even pops up at the Nevermore forum on occasion.

(One of my favorite 'missed threads' is http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/andy-sneap/256184-tube-piece-missing.html - took months to get back to that after everything went silly... oops.)

There are plenty of people here who just take the time to ask people directly, and sometimes it works - just like there are people here who write original tutorials and FAQs instead of just looking for what everyone else said. That's what we need to value, not just having a bunch of links to what other people said.

:loco:Not sure if most of you have seen this, but I just stumbled upon it myself and thought I'd post the link.:kickass:

That is all...

His vibrato control is disturbingly good. I've been listening to Nevermore for 3 years and still can't get over how amazing his control over the instrument is.

Alright, guys. I'll see if I can get an answer from either Loomis or Kernon. I definitely agree about his vibrato. It's even more impressive considering the extremely tight string tension he uses (I believe 10-52 + 70 in Bb on a 26.5" scale guitar....) It's not easy to do bends/vibrato with the strings that tight! Not for me anyways... I need less tension lol

Loomis is all-around one of my favorite guitar players right now... he has that whole Jason Becker/Yngwie Malmsteen neoclassical vibe mixed with the heavy 7 string riffs... he doesn't try to hide his influences, but who cares? He's pretty much a master at the style he plays :worship: :kickass:

(l) Loomis . He was the reason I got the Hellraiser.

Just knew there were so many elements of his technique worth drawing on for one's own playing style.

He's the main reason I got into 7 strings as a whole man. I've got a Hellraiser, a Loomis sig, a Dual Recto, and a weird overuse of sweeping diminished 7th arpeggios. :erk:
