Ok guys i’m about to move to London (8 September) and after searching for useful sound engineering schools i came to the conclusion that there’s no point in paying so much (at least for my resources) . So if you own a studio and you are looking for a guy in recording/mixing sessions i would be definitely of help even for ridiculous remuneration. I speak a fluent English, have experience with CUBASE 5, REASON, KONTAKT related LIBRARIES and I own and use some ORIGINAL libraries which include SLATE DRUMS, METALHEADS, SUPERIOR DRUMMER, some other handy VSTs which of course I bring with me. I really love modern metal/rock productions like Katatonia and similar but I guess you can understand that if you listen to the samples in the links (keep in mind that these samples are made mostly with free stuff and vst sim due to the lack of gear here in my place).
So PM me here if you are interested. I can send to you some works with local bands too.
Cheers

To be honest with you man, if someone is looking and they can't find someone on their own accord somehow. It ends up on Gearslutz where they literally get 10,000 applications. If you want to go down the road of intern -> runner -> assistant, your best bet is to go knocking on doors and handing out resumes. A degree from SAE or similar actually really would help in this situation, as although it could be argued that there are better ways to be spending that money. It puts you head and shoulders above someone of similar experience without a qualification. Simply because it shows you have put in the time and effort to finish something like that to end, and that's what these places are looking for. A hard working dedicated person, with talent. The intricacies of know twiddling can be taught, a good work ethic, good client relations and an incredible ear can't.

My advice to you would be to move, go to school and do as much as you can on the side. Then during your last semester do NOT stop knocking on doors until you find somewhere. That's only if you want to go down to road of Major studios, as quite frankly. Places dealing with Metal and Hardcore are smaller usually 1 or 2 man shows, and the engineers own the studio. There's just no money for assistants and whatnot these days.

I hate to be a bearer of bad news, but as someone who wanted to go down the path your heading on. I have a little big of experience.

Yeah, i see the point. But asking doesn't cost so it is worth trying :)
