A new chord for my Opeth arsenal...
I was learning a song today and check this shit out:
Minor chords look like this sometimes, right?:
Here's Dm for an example
1:--5-
2:--6-
3:--7-
4:----
5:-----
6:-----
Well you can add two notes to that same form and turn it into a different chord.
1:--5--
2:--6--
3:--7--
4:--8--
5:--x--
6:--6--
Add those notes on the D string with your pinky and the low E with your thumb. Sounds pretty fuckin' cool.
So it's like a Dm with a Bb octave chord underneath, which is probably related some how in some scale...shoulda learned theory...
Really, this a major chord form without the fifth and the high root flattened....hmmmm....sounds cooler than a regular major chord though.
(Okay, so this might not be new to some of you, but I just figured it out and I like it so eat my poo...)
