Hey guise
just got back from the studio! Mark Lewis got one of the most amazing drum sounds i have ever heard in my life (the snare especially!), i knew he was an amazing engineer but good goddamn, i didnt expect it to be this good! This will be my first time mixing real drums, so keep your fingers crossed and lets hope i dont fuck them up too badly when im mixing the album hahah!

Orbo really held it down like nothing else. He has been practicing the songs obsessively for the last 5 months or so, and as a result ended up tracking the 14 songs (of which one is the rather long "racecar") in 2.5 days! (pretty much the same amount of time we spent just setting up the drums and getting the perfect sounds!)

Anyways heres a clip, albeit a rather crappy sounding/looking one, of Orbo jamming and tracking. On the plus side, he brought his HD camcorder with him and recorded the whole session, so all you drummers out there can look forward to that in the near future!

expect this album to be done sometime this spring!!

So are you guys releasing the cd independently? Good to know race car is on there. Do you have the album tracklist, or is it gonna be a surprise?

We will release it independantly but we are also looking for a good licensing deal, that way you or even far away swedes wont have trouble acquiring it hehe!

Can't wait to hear the album Bulb!

PS. do a video of your new Blackmachine B6! you must! I want my guitar pron now! :D

How'd you guys get hooked up with Audio Hammer? I've been wondering this since it was first announced!

I have known Jay and Mark for a little bit now, and Mark had told me many times interested in doing our drums. Also i personally think that both of them are really pushing the envelope with their mixes, so we didnt hesitate to tell them we were ready to start tracking haha!

Well tracked drums are SOOO easy to mix dude. I'm currently working on my first "pro" recorded drum tracks and it's so easy to get it to sound good. So I'm wondering... what was the signal chain (if you even remember, I know when I did my session we used a fuckload of shit including a vari-mu, couple of compellors, benchmark preamps, ISA428, etc etc..)

Those sound like some fucking great raw kick and snare sounds. Any chance you'll be posting some raw drums for us any time in the future? I'd love to hear how it came up.

Is there any EQ/Comp on those drums in that clip, or is it all raw coming in?
