I just got back from sitting in on one of the recording sessions for the new album. To start it off, myself, James and Jeff fiddled around with the Splawn ProMod a bit to see exactly how it sounded, two words come to mind when describing it... Loud & Mean! Should definitely compliment Jeff's Soldano Decatone in a live setting with a little bit more loose low end, but very punchy and aggressive.
After messing around with it for a bit (and practically knocking ourselves backwards with the volume barely at 1 out of 10) they started working on drum parts for one of the songs on the record. I don't want to spoil too much but the drumming and riffing is in that dark / aggressive style with a mournful-sounding chorus. They also said that it was one of their shorter tracks.
