Just heard Mabool

no way mate :)
we have much time before the real flood of people coming here will start. I assume that after the europe/ america shows we`ll see some big activity here :)

welcome aboard !

I'm washed ashore, like everyone else,
and caught sight of the Ark;
Little I know, I have stumbled upon
the interplay of Light and Dark..

ok, I know it's kinda corny, but I couldn't find a better way to describe discovering Orphaned Land. Heard "Birth of the Three" and the title track this afternoon, and I was simply in awe. You guys evidently put a lot of thought in your music, and for that alone, I take my hat off in reverence.

Salamat ng marami, Folklore. :D

for that matter, I don't think many of my ilk like metal music. guess that's the reason why I don't see any other Filipino here, or in the other UM forums. but what the heck, I'm a majority of one. haha..

Yes welcome and please feel free to contribute to our nice forum!
Never too late to discover a masterpiece like Mabool. May you grow to love it more every day, like us in here do.

Great to hear from someone form the Philipines! Please tell a bit about your country and the metalscene overthere.

the metal scene...or lack thereof?

for the most part, there are groups that keep the flames burning, so to speak..largely underground, like one would expect, but sadly, they're almost a minority, even among the indie people. Emo, punk and their reasonable facsimiles are the big acts in indie IMO. the song I'm listening to right now is from but one of the more promising death metal acts to come from ph as of late..:D

Another admirer of Mabool, here. I'm from the Opeth camp and really got into Mabool only at the 2nd spin...that's pretty quick for me. I've been conditioned well by Opeth's music, I guess. ;)

Mabool is great. :headbang:

Seems Opeth fans are into OL. i've seen a few of you guys on the Opeth forum

hmm...

for the first time ever, I am contrained to tell people about the Philippines. I'm not gonna paint a pretty picture when I say that politics is the national pastime here. I do mean it in the satirical sense but that is ph in a nutshell. The whole political situation is a grand comedy of errors, in my humble opinion.

as for the metal scene, it's alive in a lot of respects, although I'll have to dig deeper as to if these guys have web presence. Mortal Grudge is readily accessible, but the best place to start is The Philippine Metal Scene. From grindcore to goth, prog to death, if it's from ph, it's in there.
