Just saw In Flames live for the first time.

Yeah, I saw them open for LoG (LoG should be opening for them!), absolutely amazing. I'd heard Anders' voice was shot, and heard it in a few vids too, but he was pretty much flawless live.

Apart from the overall awesomeness of everything they played (sans the new album), the one thing that kept in my mind was how insane they're transitions were. Like, you don't really notice it on CD, but live when there's a verse (take My Sweet Shadow), its really soft, and when the chorus comes in it just hits you in the face. Usually I hate dynamics but live it works sooooooooo well.

yeh i just saw them a few weeks back its my third time and fuck man ill never miss a show that they play in my town their too fucking good live.

It saddens me that that is considered the "old shit" nowadays... Lunar Strain, Black Ash Inheritance, Jester Race and Whoracle are where it's at.

Its a totally different band now. Different line up and everything. I mean shit, Anders wasnt even on lunar strain. EDIT, and looking back now...Jesper was the only one on lunar strain that is in the lineup now.

When i talked to Jesper (when i played on stage with em) he said...."what people dont realize is we (inflames) dont consider those albums....just projects." He said they didnt have a steady line up until way after those CDs.

Ive been a fan since i was 16 with TJR (im 29 now)....love their old stuff! But love the new stuff just as much.

From the other night!
They all remembered me from when i played guitar on stage with em.....was an awsome night!

This.

I love their old stuff, but don't dig the new stuff as much, and I can't get too excited to see them live because I know I'd hear hardly anything (if anything AT ALL) off the Jester race.

If by some miracle they played December Flower, the guy who did that solo left the band ages ago so I wouldn't see/hear my favourite part of any In Flames song anyway. That solo is just EPIC WIN.

There's a reason for this... a lot of what you are hearing from this band live is not actually live. 10 playback tracks at FOH, including lead vox.
