Just started listening to Decapitated

Nihility is the definitive tech-death album IMO
Winds of Creation is better than OH as far as I'm concerned, so you'll probably want to check that out as well.

loving them, and yes, the fact that they were like 15-16 when they recorded winds of creation is fucking sick!
bought that album when it was released and I listened to it almost 24/7 :D

It's all about their first cd for me. Every song has, like, 55 riffs on it and they all kick arse.

Yeah. I will definitely check out winds of creation. I did read Vitek was 15 when they tracked it. That will probably put shit into perspective, I was not that cool at 15. I was the only one in my school who listened to Carcass though. Everyone else listened to rap and/or Nirvana.

Well he was only 23 when he died, he was still only like 18/19 when he recorded Nihility

The bit at around 3:00 = :yell:

As far as I'm concerned, as a listener, they are one of the last surviving undiluted metal bands still creating awesome music.

Nihility is awesome, but I'm more a fan of the last two records. I think they really got into their groove, and OH especially is close to a tech death masterpiece for me. Carnival is Forever has some amazing moments too. It's growing on me more with each listen.

^Agreed, their two most recent are my favorites of theirs.

Was probably towards the beginning of 2010 when I first heard them, and I didn't 'get' them, so I kinda just left it sitting there for ages.
Fast forward to 2011, decide to give them another go, and Organic Hallucinosis just fucked with my consciousness.
Doesn't have a trillion layers of shit going on in the arrangements like far too many technical and 'djent' bands have, it was just straight up, no bullshit music that hits you straight in the gut.
Even though the production is generally pretty 'clean' and tight, the stripped down nature of it just makes it feel so real.
Truly just sounds like a bunch of guys that can play ridiculously well just emoting their hearts out into the music and nothing more, nothing less. Vital music every metalhead needs to hear.
