Excellent new English rock band. A mix of U2, Radiohead, and a touch of old british punk. I think Lurch and NAD would dig them--maybe Doomcifer. Anyone heard of them?

Oh and since we are on the topic of mainstrem music, what does everyone think of The Killers? They have this one song they play on the radio, and Ill be damned if I dont sing along already. It is one catchy tune.

The Killers have one of the best bassists I've heard in absolute aaaaaaaaages. Saw them on SNL a few weeks ago and didn't dig the singer too much, but fuck me. That bassist. Good show.

Haven't even heard of Kasabian, but that description sounds pretty cool.

I will warn everyone I burned a cd for some artsy pretentious friends of my former girlfriend, and they loved it. SO, it may not be for everyone. But if you like to wear scarves, colored leggings, berets, drive a VW passat, and have a IPod, you will most definately like this band.

Yeah Club Foot is one of the best rock--indie rock tracks Ive heard in years. Everyone try it.

I love Muse, excellent excellent band. Wonderfully over the top, and hard to describe, but jesus I cant believe people havent heard them yet.

Yeah the killers song isnt something I would usually like, but damn it, when I hear it, it pulls me in; its like ice cream or something--I shouldnt be eating, but I do anyway.

Preach it. What I don't understand is that even when I was in my BLACK DEATH THRASH FUCK THE REST mood (around 16 years old), I still listened to other non-metal groups, just not as much as I do now. I dunno, people like to limit themselves for some strange reason.

So what is Muse like? I think I've seen comparisons to Radiohead and Dredg, is that fitting?

Yeah Id say mix Radiohead and Dredg with some prog and 80's metal; and some over the top singing. They always have reminded me of a modern Queen; what QUeen would sound like after prog, metal, and post-rock. They are quite unique.
