Much as it pains me, I won't post in this thread...promise, cross my heart, stick a needle in my eye.

Anyone who posts sources, can't quote business propaganda

I honestly can't think of where he's lied. There have been times when his word has come into doubt - Brian Burke, Anzac service on Sunrise - but nothing where he's been proven to be a liar or gone back on his word.

I'm sure I'm forgotten something though.

Howard has been PM for 10 yrs, Rudd's been opposition leader for a few months, give the young man time, lies surface over time. Howard has lied something cronic at times, I dont like it, but unfortunatly its a part of politics, and thats no excuse to lie. Ultimately Id say both parties probably lie as much as each other.

The unions on the other hand are just one big lie.

The difference between Rudd and Howard is that when Rudd gets caught, he apologises. Howard obfuscates, changes the subject and then says something so brilliantly ambiguous most people forget what he was lying about in the first place.

Like I said rudds been a round for a few months, in 11 yrs time he will have built up a fair record of which no one will care about.

Hahahhaha you're a dickhead.

It'll be funny to watch you tories scrambling around howling about how we don't understand that you're born to rule while the rest of the country gets on with apologising to the first Australians, fixing up the health and education system and.... most of all... making sure single mothers and teenagers don't have to work 17 hour days for 10c an hour.

It's been great here in Aus the last few months. Almost feels like I'm waking up from a really bad, 11 year long dream. I'm starting to feel close to being proud to be Australian again, something I haven't felt since a certain Armani suit clad Sydney lad darkened the 730 Report regularly with his Mahler loving ways.

Alas, poor Johnny. I knew him, Horatio.

For 28 yrs old you're a pretty big tool who obviously lacks understanding and can't construct a coherant argument supporting your points of view; just keep slandering like the majority of your kind to. Maybe read my posts and you'll learn something champ.

Occupying the land an arbitrary number of years earlier than 'white man' doesn't make them any more 'first Australians' than what Aztecs are the 'first Mexicans'. The only difference is the Spanish at least did a decent job on the Aztecs, and the Aztecs managed to do something constructive in the 500 odd years they were around. The Aborigines get a completely isolated island to themselves for 40,000 years and the best they can come up with is a curvy stick that comes back (albiet only when you miss what you were aiming at) and a hollow stick that makes noise. Now THAT is an injustice :Smug:

edit - Fourthed (damn you Salty)

The real apologies that need to be made to the first Australians are for the policies pursued over the last 100 years. Thoroughly despicable eugenic, genocidal policies that have all but achieved their aim.

You're a fucking ignorant bigot. I can't understand that at all.

Well I don't really hate Aboriginals nor think they should be 'Spanished', nor do I think their treatment in the past has been fair, however when I'm expected to feel personally guilty or apologise to someone just because their ancestors had a hard life, or that they have more 'right' to land because their ancestors were here before my ancestors I feel entitled to a bit of a shit-stir.

This is going back a fair bit, and no it's not just "boo hoo bad past experience and still have a grudge", but what I find extremely fucked is when I was in primary school they had a 'sorry' day where they lined up all the kids with Aborigal background and made all the rest of us walk up to each of them one by one and say sorry to them all. Not that I actually did it but THAT is fucking disgusting. I hoped it was one-off bullshit as part of some political statement but recently my younger sister had the same thing happen as well. Who the fuck has the right to make me, or anyone else of caucasian / European decent, feel guilty or answerable to another simply because of who we are? How is that any less fucking bigoted?
