So after two amazing contests, a cancelled one, and an ongoing mixing contest (see thread link at the end of this post), here is the new one (see the second part of the page, named "2. --------GUITAR CONTEST") proposed by Kevin Talley (drummer for Daath & Six Feet Under, ex-Chimaira/Dying Fetus/Misery Index/...) :

Write your own guitar riffs to Kevin's drum track. BPM is 125

- Download the drum track below and record your own guitar riffs. NO Rules. Show Kevin what you got!

- Email your mp3 to Kevin with the subject "Guitar Contest Sept 2012" to info@drummerkevintalley.com. by Sept 1.

- Please include your full name, city, country, Facebook, twitter, and Youtube ID name in the email.

- Search youtube for "Kevin Talley Guitar Contest Sept 2012" and post your song as a video response.

- Your video response title should read: "Your Name + Kevin Talley Guitar Contest Sept 2012"

- Your video response WILL NOT APPEAR. KEVIN WILL APPROVE THEM ALL ON SEPT 1.

- DEADLINE is SEPT 1... BUT DO IT NOW!!!
Prize: Winner will write another song and Kevin will host a Drum Contest with your music! You choose the winner! Kevin will also compete in the Drum Contest.

I took part in the past February 2012 contest and had a lot of fun doing it, and learnt a lot also (see thread link at the end of this post).

I might do this one and i hope some of you guys will join in as well !

Edit: already recorded guitars..a lot easier when there's a set tempo and a slightly clearer structure to drums.
