Checking this out now, these drums sound fucking great.

*edit* don't really care to reamp and mix as none of the prizes really appeal to me, but here's what I ended up doing on the drums. Replaced the kick trigger track with a persona sample, the rest is natural. Heavy use of mono room track destroyed with an 1176 and some fucked up parallel compression on the snare/a bit on the toms really helped out.

sound ace jeff,

how did you get the snare so fat?
is it just from the room mono track?
I'm struggeling with this a bit at the moment.

Work proxy blocking soundcloud :( Gonna check this out tonight at home.

If you liked the drums, you should check out the drums Kevin did in those threads, they sound even better (tone i mean) :

Now, what do you guys think about the bass DI ?
I think it sounds kind of horrible :) And i'm curious to hear what you guys can make out of it and how.
Guitars are cool.

I think I just filled the cup. downloading...this is one of my favorite songs of all time :headbang:

This is awesome, but there are some vital parts in the original drums that aren't there in Talleys version that I enjoyed. And I really dislike the guitars and how parts are changed from the original.

Keep in mind it's a cover so not necessarily meant to be an exact replica (thinking about the guitars mainly here).

I prefer the original guitar parts as well, but this is cool also, mainly because it forces you to deal with all those different guitar tracks and do some volume automation and whatnots.
Having a centered lead guitar that plays throughout almost all the song is kinda weird tho' :)

just my 2 cents

sweet job you did !

The mono room track you mention you did by yourself (bussing the existing tracks into a fake room track or something) or you used the existing room track ?

I wanna hear your full-mix now :)

This, the parts aren't played properly and they were performed like shit.

I'm struggeling with this a bit at the moment.

Part of it is the room, part of it is the parallel compression track (plugin 1176, Decapitator, eq), but most of it is just MHCS compression you're hearing.

Nah just took the original room track (was mono already) and destroyed it with hardware.

Won't be doing a full mix mostly on account of the shitty bass/guitars - I'd have to re-record to be happy with it and I just can't be fucked to spend time on it.
