I'll be doing this soon enough. Just need to learn the parts I don't know. Could figure tempo out with a bit of tap-tempo I reckon.

Yeah, but I don't like all the extra lead stuff going on with the guitars. The intro sounds like something off a Twisted Metal game. It's a good cover, but I would personally like to record guitars and bass and keep it closer to the original. Need that flange effect in the middle part and the double kicks!!

These Dis were really easy to get a sound from.
My own DIs are easy to work with too. (for me)
Most of the DIs I try to re-amp from this forum are scratchy and really hard to get a sound from.
Don't know why this is.
I use a BSS DI rather than a type 85 like most of the guys here.
I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
I also much prefer passives than EMG 81s.
If a band uses my ESP MI with SH-11, re-amps sound amazing.

Didn't think of cleaning up the spot mic tracks at first but now i did it. Easy for toms, but it was really hard to tell what was to clean up on 2 of the cymbal spot mics...
Nice ! Not too fond of the guitars but otherwise it's cool, especially those drums (Are those Jeffs ? They have a similar character).
EDIT : holy shit at the snare reverb at the end
JeffTD's drums track inspired me to do a lot of things, using a lower kick boom frequency among others.
Here's my new mix (much more processed, but not as much (and not as refined and great sounding) as what you guys posted) :

here is what i did since my last mix :
-brought back some body in the guitars
-compressed the bass DI/SUB track some more
-replaced the kick with a Superior 2 Metal Foundry kick
-more compression on the snare, less bottom mic, more body EQ
-added compression and EQ and bus reverb on toms
-more compression on the room track
-lowered the center frequency of the kick boom
-cleaned up the spot mic tracks (toms, cymbals)
-EQ-ed the OH (cymbals) some more and compressed them
previous mix for comparison (premastered) :

Good find, nice to play with these tracks.
Hated the noisy Trillian basstrack though, and since I needed some bass practise anyways I decided to make one myself. No new strings, but still better than the original included track I think.
