Hi James
Some years ago you posted pics regarding your recording session at chimaira's reharseal space..
I loved those pics but I lost them.
Now I'm very curious about the drums mics placement because I'll start a recording session very soon.
Could you post the 2-3 pics you posted? It whould be very cool :)
Thank you so much

p.s.
Great work with Daath and Blood Promise!

well that recording was done under far less than ideal circumstances... pretty much guerrilla tactics, kind of a ghetto "git-'er-done" scenario. i wouldn't really try to emulate it. here's the only pics i currently have uploaded.

I love seeing stuff like this. Seeing the process. Seeing the equipment.
I am disabled, so seeing a practice room reminds me of some very good times that I have had in the past .... I think that I am the oldest dude still in his early thirties!! Already reminiscing ...
I've gotta get my studio together before I geaux out of my mind!

I just noticed the Motu equipment in the rack.
Is that something you used to use, or do you still use it?
If yes to either - how is the quality of Motu A/D/A converters, etc?
Thanks

Scott

Thank you so much James!
Probably it wasn't an ideal recording but it's ever good to see equipment :)
I had only the first pic so I didn't find all the cymbals mics. I'm interested because I read the "natural drums micing technique" thread on Andy's forum and you explained how to point the cardioids for a spaced OH micing... very good thread!
