Yeah I've been to Cali a few times. As far as I can tell it's not entirely different from here, especially northern California. Just different types of the same family of trees and it's usually a bit warmer there. Although here in WA we have all sorts of different types of terrain. Mountains, desert, rain forest, marsh, etc. There's water EVERYWHERE and not just the ocean.

You should definitely come here :)

NOT true! Old Ellicott City right next to my house is just like Old Town Alexandria. I've been to lots of little villages in the South and North East that reminded me of European cities.

Give me another example of an American city that looks like a European city?
Only DC.

Ellis: I've been to Elliot City: Old Town Alexandria reminds me of a Dutch city the most.

What exactly do you mean by "looking European"? Do all European cities look the same? o_O

Of course not. Do all American cities look the same? (some may argue over this point: but anyways: )

If you stand in the high-tech district of Paris, with all the sky-scrapers, and glassy windows, and urban streets- some may argue that this particular area reminds them of NYC. (and funny enough: the French's nick name for that area is "little NY" for that very reason.)

Same with DC: the feel of the city (minus the blacks) brings the feeling of a European city Vs. 'generic American' - The big but short buildings, the design of the architecture, the narrow, but busy streets, the big statues everywhere, the round-a-bouts, the way the streets look around the mall, the famous town houses: It has the same feeling you get from a European city.
