Bloody Kiwi's there is more your kind here in Sydney than there is in the whole of New Zealand....but thats understandable!

"River Dragon" is a highlight for me, not just for the song itself but the way the production just flows the right way for it.

I wouldn't mind going to Sydney.. I really want a job in the industry whats the band scene like in Sydney :p

Like everyone else said, just the sheer power in the way everything fits together. Huge wall of sound.
As for specifics, that's easy: snare. Mostly because that's the hardest thing for me to get right.

It's plain amazing dude.. I was born and raised here.. and I play guitar and own a classic Valvestate 2 marshall VS265 stereo chorus..But i'll prob end up gettin a Marshall TSL 100 because I love a clean channel for clean solos.. as wella s brutal distortion.

I wish people actually put NZ on the world map in TV programmes... always Aussie but never here! Fuckers. o_O

you also know maories ? those people are cool.

Just went and listened to Psalm of Lydia again to refresh some of the memory. What I originally dug about Andy's production from AE, Neverscore and Testament... was the presence the sound had. Just big, thick, and in your face, but polished up. Immensely distinguishable from the sort of sound of an album, that, while I dig the CD immensely... had it been recorded by Andy would just be even BETTER... Dissection's "Storm of the Light's Bane".

Basically, Andy's shit has always sounded pro... like something one of the big money pop/country producers would/could whip out... and for the metal world.. that's huge... that there's an alternative out there to sounding like one of those shit quality 80's albums... and Im being brutally honest.

Matter of fact, last nite, on the way home... my buddy and I put Cowboys from Hell in my CD system [which is Pioneer, so, not bad]... after that, I put in Soilwork's "Stabbing the Drama", and it just sounded light years better... and I hadn't previously thought the production in CFH was that weak...

Anyways, you get the point.

From a drummer's perspective... Andy makes the ride cymbals sound badass... sometimes I think crash cymbals, and the bassist are a little low though =P

WD is the one who told me about that joke... I mention it to him every time I come across him.. that shit's too funny

hey,
i love sneap's production and mixing first because he keeps his work clean you know
what i mean there are not too much fancy things (like effects and stuff) going on just clean productions but with huge fatness at the same time ...
yeah the guitars sound awesome also the drums are killer and don't know how he pulls
it off but awesome work there too.
