something i've wondered... do you think a classical pianist would be impressed with jannes playing, or do you think a classical pianist could play something janne could play, just as good... maybe better.

i was thinking of this because you dont see many skilled keyboardists in the likes of janne, jens, (etc). as much as you see skilled guitarists... but then there aren't many in the genre.

*edit* i just realised classical pianists dominate, but ill leave the question up...

doesnt jane play alot of classical stuff. i think that is how he got fast. i think there are certian skills in all gneres of muisic that can impress musicians from other genres. personally i would think the 2 could learn alot from each other

a majority of pianists i met hate keyboards with a passion
because they're "tacky"
as for being impressed by jannes playing hmmmm hard to tell
i doubt a classical pianist would want to use a pitch bend though

Hehe! Pitch benders kick ass! I spend most of the time in my vocal class at school playing guitar or screwing around with the pitch bender on the keyboard . . . . It pisses Ms. Hunter off sooooooooooo much . . . which makes me happy!

Where in scotland are ya from?

answer (and it's a fact, not an opinnion): no, no classicaly trained pianist would be impressed by janne's playing. Not a bit actually :p

Pianinsts tend to hate keyboards because you can "cheat" with them. I know the feeling, since i despise any drummer who triggers  :p

yeah i let my mate listen to warmen
and he was convinced that janne was cheating all the way
just cause he was playing a keyboard
i dont play keyboard so i cant really comment but it sure looks like hes playing it without cheating

My friend is a classical pianist and he's very impressed by Janne. He's impressed by his speed, his ability to play all those scales flawlessly and continously, and he also likes how he incoporates the song's melodys in his solos. Of course his jaw droped when I showed him "Piano intro to"...and "Confessions". :worship:

used to play piano and keyboard, only difference to me is the keys on a keyboard are a little easier to push down on, can help a little tiny bit speed wise, oh and keyboards u can turn off crap for how hard or soft u press the keys

oh and violins should come with frets i reckon :P

actually make it frets and an original floyd rose

Did you know, back in the Renaissance period, they used an instrument called a Viol which was essentially a 6 string violin with frets. No floyd though..

why the hell did they scrap it and use a violin

i swear the people back then just tried to make music harder or learn on purpose or something

they should like completely reinvent music scores and make them simplier to read, like have a thicker line for every optive so u can tell what note your on, especially when above and below the score

They didn't scrap it at all actually, people just stopped using it.

And conventional notated music is one of the most perfect artforms avaliable.

They're called weighted keys. You can get keyboards that have weighted keys too.
