Kick drum tom mount hole

If you are not using the mounts on a a kick drum for toms...should that hole be closed with tarp or something or is it ok open?

If there's nothing in them, you run the risk of the bass drum cracking.


J/ks, its fine. Just tighten the clamps so they don't rattle around.

Open tom mounts sound like balls. uke:uke:uke:

look at any decent Hi end kit and you'll notice they don't have open mounts.

Pearl Make a Metal Plate with a rubber gasket but it only fits their kits, definately seal it if you can.
