Hey guys,

Looks like my band might be on the go again this year. Looking to get a few pub gigs and was wondering how I might help my drummer out for a slightly better sounding mix. We've never really done it professionally, only playing about 25 gigs when we were younger (our own material) and the drum sound is always the let down in my opinion.

Since its going to be primarily covers, I thought it would be cool to stick in some similar samples to the originals. Playing bon jovi with a dry snare would suck. (actually playing bon jovi generally sucks, but you know...)

So anybody tried this for smaller venues? If it is destined for utter fail I wont bother, but thought it might help a lot.

Maybe I'll tell him him to just go and buy a alesis D4 package. Obviously cant load your own samples into that as far as I know, but i would like a hardware unit we could load our own samples into ideally. Not too keen on relying on a laptop, but maybe that could be an option.

Any thoughts really appreciated :kickass:

Well, I've got a Roland TD-4 module for sale. Can't load it, but there are some YT videos out there if you need a demo.
