If she needs Kickstarter to get a tour off the ground, well... I can't see her turning down a Nightwish gig because Tuomas certainly doesn't need Kickstarter help.

For those of us who don't know what Kickstarter is (i.e., me), could you shed some light on it for us, please?

Basically it's begging people to fund a project of yours. It's used to fund things like movies or business startups. Hence the name, to kick start a project. You make an appeal to people to help you get your business going because you don't have the funds to do it yourself.
