Killswitch Engage Cover

Yeah cheers dude, Im doing that now actually. Any tips to stop pumping in the compressor?

EDIT: Just updated the file to one with less compression. Hopefully the pumping has gone now. I think there may be a slight bit of distortion on the ride cymbal. Ill fix it again once I have vocals.

Also, are all the instruments sounding alright? Any advice?

right here's my attempt:

128k mp3: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=D30A9F5545C814E0

done real quick, just a couple of runs at it just holding the mic (no stand or popper stopper) but i'm pleased with it!
eq'd a bit, compressed, v short delay (to thicken vox) and reverb.
enjoy!

vox might be a tad loud now i listen to it again, oh well, i can change that if anyone is bothered.
also i can upload a higher quality mp3 or the wav if anyone wants?

shit! nice job Descent. That is NOT an easy song to sing. Props to you too Machinated on the geeetars.

cheers willy!:kickass:
that's my kinda vox style anyway so was no probs.
luckily this song doesnt have too much singing as such, if i'd done my last serenade or something we'de have all been in trouble.:goggly:

Hey man, sorry I didn't get back to you - I didn't get to record anything in the end because I've got two new kittens that I'm apparently allergic to. I didn't even realise anything was up until I tried to sing and all that came out was a Dani Filth stylee squeak. Grr! I might still give it a shot in a few days (just because I have nothing better to do), so if I do I'll let you know.

Cheers for listening Beech, pretty basic equipment used for this so here goes:

Drums: DFHS with a few D4 samples blendy very slightly in

Bass: Peavey Fury 5 Bass into PodXT Pro with Bass expansion pack. The amp was the 'Rock Classic' model. I also used a DI track of the bass.

Guitars: PodXT Pro, Bogner Uberschall Model. Im pretty happy with the tone.

Vocals: I think Ross (Descent) used a Sennheiser 58 copy

Plugin wise, it was mostly URS and Sonalksis stuff, also used the free Tritone digital plugin Colortone. I am really enjoying that plugin, it can add a lot of life to the tracks.
