King Diamond

So after reading several threads about concept albums, I found that many of you recommended King Diamond. Well, right now I'm giving Abigail a listen, and FUCK, these are possibly the worst and most annoying vocals I've ever heard. The music seems to be pretty cool, but I just can't seem to look past the vocals right now. Maybe in time I will, but I don't know if it's even worth the wait. Yargh.

Those of you who are King Diamond fans, am I missing something here?!?

King's vocals are fucking great if you're in the mood for them. Most people either love or hate King Diamond/Mercyful Fate due to his vocals. Abigail is a great album...the vocals will probably grow on you.

I'm going to see them in a few weeks, and if all goes well, GYBE! a couple of days after that. And if I'm really lucky, I may be able to see Coldplay, although tickets for them are too expensive for my blood.

I agree, King Diamond's vocals are definitely an acquired taste. Me and most of the metalheads in the Bay Area??? We love him. I've seen King Diamond/Mercyful Fate (you may like Mercyful Fate better) at least 8 or 9 times in concert.
