My mate showed me a review of the album Them, one of my favorite King Diamond albums, and it said that some people heard loads of voices and they basically went insane and where sent to an asylum?

Can anyone give me a bit more detailed information on this?

I've not heard about this. However I have heard that if you play Mercyful Fate's album Melissa backwards you can hear Elvis talking to Bigfoot in German.

Hmmmmmm...listening to King D.'s Them made people go insane...that's a good one. Personally, I start going insane when I hear Air Supply and Barry Manilow - but that's just me...

He's saying, "Get me the fuck out of this box!" [/oldjoke]

I never heard any voices on that album save the whispers of Them on the album, unless it was something telling me to buy the next six albums, which I promptly did when they came out.

I though it was the famous Sammy Davis Jr KKK speech in Missouri translated into Danish.

Damn right, "Phone Call" is one of the most creepy things I've heard in Metal!

"Hello, King."
"Who . . . who's this?"
"It's your grandmother."
". . . but . . .you're dead . . ."
"In a way, yes. Now listen . . . are you still there?"
"I . . . I'm still here, Grandma . . . yes . . ."
"Come to the old house tonight. There're quite a few people there who'd love to see you . . ."
"Stop it! Bitch! It's starting all over again . . . .
