Actually I am back here at home in the US, but I just arrived from Japan.

Unfortunately, my Father-In-Law became very ill then passed away. For those that don't know me so well.... my wife, Harumi is Japanese, so I put her on a plane the next day after he fell ill so she could go see him. She did make it there to the hospital before he died. My Son and I didn't have a passport, so I had to have a couple expedited to me. I had very little time to get it done as well. Unfortunately, to get a passport for a minor requires both parents to be present, so we had to fill out special forms and have stuff overnighted from Japan and out to San Fransisco etc. where the expediting company is.... it was a mess. My Son and I were able to fly out there though on August 05, which was my birthday. I was very lucky though. A young Chinese woman that had just graduated from Purdue University was flying to Narita (Japan) for a connection to China to visit her family and she had a seat next to us. She couldn't keep her hands off of my Son, Koji. I had a great deal of help with him.
Though it was far from ideal circumstances, we made the best of it when we made it to Japan. It as very nice to meet my wife's family in person (which was the first time) and we did get to do a little tourist type stuff as well. I even got a boxed set of Loudness as a gift (among many other things) as a birthday present.
My wife and Son will stay for another three weeks, so ya'll will probably see a good bit of me here. When you live way out in the country, nobody ever comes to visit you. Any of ya'll are welcome to stop by anytime of course.

My condolences to your family Bryant. Good you made the best of it like you said. I hope someday to visit Japan too.

And yes it will be a good idea if you post a little more in the meantime ;)

Condolences to you & your family, please pass on my condolences to Harumi as well. Losing a parent can be a very rough road. Enjoy your temporary vacation! :)

Thank you my Brother. My wife will be happy to hear that as well. She really likes you. She says that she wished all of my friends were like you. She said you were "well-mannered" unlike many people.

Well...... I am far from depressed, but I don't feel ashamed about missing my Wife and Son. Maybe I will go crazy and do something different, but if I do that, I don't have my wife to pick me up when I am too drunk to drive home.

Sorry to hear about your father in law Bryant. Sp you're king of the castle for 3 weeks now? Party on dude! ;)

I too am sorry to hear about your father in law Bryant.

I'm sure your wife and son miss you just as much as you miss them. :)

My condolences to you and your family in your time of loss. At least your wife was able to see her father before he passed away.

Genki desu....

I must say despite having a Japanese wife, my Japanese is very limited. I suffer a very common condition that allows me to only speak one language..... it is called Americanitis. :loco:

LoL me too but i'm so into languages that I try to learn them anyways... Japanese being one of them.. right now just learning basic words and Hiragana...
