kontakt, quick question, one shot

tryin to load my own cymbal samples into kontakt
need to use it like having 8 drumagogs with 8 different cymbals open, dynamics and chokes and all of that

but i can't figure out how to just trigger the cymbal being played
i have to hold the key down for the duration of the cymbal sample

how do i convert it to be all one shots
but to mute all previous cymbal samples playing when a choke occurs

Set up seperate choke instruments in kontakt.

To trigger only one cymbal... set each cymbal it's own note in midi and/or channel if they are on seperate tracks then route each track accordingly.

It's the default behavior in Battery, because it's mainly the drum sampler. Sorry, I can't help you with Kontakt - I've never used it.

In battery I'd just set the choke for it's own velocity - it'll stop the samples playing by default.

There should be an option in kontakt for what you need, browse preferences.

Or, set it to midi ch. 10... i believe that is the default for drums and may solve this.

hmm, well it works
but its not really optimal for say, having 7 hard hits, 5 med hits, and 6 soft hits...

thats 18 cells used for one cymbal, without chokes...
