Im sure there has been a thousand threads on these amps already. but i wanted to know how everyone here felt on these amps. cause i played the old krankenstien and revolution and i thought they both sucked ass. but of course i had nothing to boost them with. but does anyone have any clips or any input on these amps?

the eq takes some learning i think

sometimes i love the amp and other times i struggle with it, really depends on the band.

i also found it much better paired with a mesa cab than any other cab. definitely not bad amps though, they have a pretty good rep round here.

Yeah see i used the krank cab and i have heard really bad things about krank cabs on other amps. and i love my recto cabs there the best cabs ever. but i was thinking of giving krank another chance and buying one for the studio. which one do you like better?

Kranks are notoriously hard to dial in but once you do they're pretty awesome. I prefer an overdrive like an SD-1 or a Catalinbread SCOD in front of 'em instead of a TS.

When I had mine I used a homebuilt cab with two Eminence Man-o-War and two Sunn 60w speakers in an X pattern, shit was killer.

Yeah, Lasse's recent Krankenstein clips sound great, and Guitarhack has produced some awesome ones as well, and Mark, you know of course I like yours as well - I really dig the sound, an incredible grind!

got a revolution 1 and a krank cab loaded with v30. still need to find an amp setup I like more than mine! it fucking slays. took some time to get into the sweep knob though.

I've heard good clips from both, but the Stein has always just struck me as a bit harsher, with more sizzle; that can be cool as hell, but it can also get annoying; honestly, I think you'd be fine going for whichever you can get the better deal on! (or, if you're like me, buying both, testing them back to back extensively, and then selling the one you like less - I did it with re-amp and DI boxes, but Kranks are a little out of my budget! :D)
