Krank with v30's?

I have a Krank Krankenstein cab, and I was thinking about putting some v30's into it. Has anyone ever heard this combo, or even better, does anyone have a recording with it?

Oh cool deal thanks, that album is pretty beefy too! I have a 5150 that Im using with it. I am debating buying a Mesa OS cab, or just loading my Krank with V30's..

I have perosnally never played through a Krank Cab so I have no frame of reference, but I know the Mesa OS is a beefy mother fucker.

Awesome man, thanks! Yea the Krank cab is pretty freakin beefy too. I love the Eminence speakers that are in it for live sound, because they just sound tight, chunky, and clean, espescially with my 5150. But with recording, they just dont distort enough and they sound almost too clean for recorded tone. Thats why I think I am going to go with the Mesa OS cab>

Im also getting the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. I read in some other threads that you love this interface right? Im just confused a bit on how to connect it to my DAW. Should I use the firewire or go through my M-Audio 1010LT sound card?

Anybody remember that speaker comparison Andy did? There was a krank cab with v30s in there and it sounded bangin! I totally want one. Maybe somebody can dig that up? You could hear a direct comparison between the Mesa and the Krank w/ v30s

Here are Andy's samples. I think he used a 5150. Doesn't really matter, you get to hear the differences between the Eminence and V30 in the same cab and also compared to the Mesa Cab.

Yea definitely the Mesa cab IMO. The Krank, every time we record it, it just sounds kinda sloppy. It has the Eminence Texas Heat speakers, and they sound great live. But just too sloppy and the mids aren't that present when we record. That Mesa clip sounds more like what Im going for, more mids and bite IMO.

kwl for bringing back up this old topic. Cause i was pretty stunned by the HB with V30's sound. I sorta had the idea to put some V30's in Krank also. The difference is enormous.
