So, I'm probably one of the rare people on this forum who acutally enjoyed Dowsing.. more then Choirs. This may be because I'm a far heavier ambient/noise fan then metal, but that is besides the point. When I first heard Dowsing it didn't seem like that difficult of a listen to me, and I think the reason why is because as I just realized, it's kind of like a heavy version of L's Holy Letters.
For those of you who haven't heard of L.. or the CD. It's basically a drone experiment by a japanese man named Hiroyuki Usui. Like Kayo Dot being piegon-holed in the genre of Metal, I guess you could piegon-hole L into the genre of folk. But anyway, I think any of you fans of Dowsing.. that haven't heard of L should check him out.
Here is a link to the big song on Holy Letters..
http://www.vhfrecords.com/sounds/l6.mp3
And.. another link to more about the artist.
http://www.vhfrecords.com/catalog/84.htm
If anyone would like me to send them the album, my AIM screen name is Pixiesfanyo, and my soulseek name is the same.
I can also e-mail it.. pixiesfanyo@gmail.com
I really think that everyone that enjoys Dowsing would really love this album, and I think I was really stupid not to notice how similar the two records are.
That's all.
